A short visit to Amsterdam
Ric and I woke up around 5:00am to drive up to Amsterdam. He had to do something in the city and was able to get off work for the day, so we decided to go down together. Unfortunately, the weather was quite terrible, cloudy with rain and nothing was really open until around 10:00am :(
I noticed that I don't quite like Amsterdam as much when it's not sunny. It was quite dirty on the streets and the rain did not help at all... I think it was also garbage day because garbage was put out on the streets. There are still many parts of the city I love though, especially the beautiful architecture and the canals.
The photos are from my phone! Sorry for the poor quality! :(
We didn't stay long because the weather was not great. I didn't bring an umbrella with me, so Ric dropped me off at the central station. I walked in and the first store I saw was Hema! They also had cute umbrellas displayed by the front window, so I picked one up for myself :) I'll show you guys a photo of it some other day. It's clear but it has a bright coral trim and handles :)
My Forget-Me-Nots are also growing quite quickly! I'm so happy with them. I can't wait to see them bloom! Hopefully, soon! I've had them for about 2 weeks? maybe almost 3?
I was kind of craving for a hamburger, so we went grocery shopping for the ingredients. I added paprika hummus, fresh lettuce?, tomatoes, a bit of tabbouleh, a beef patty in between this yummy whole wheat bun.
For dessert, I made a Dutch apple pie with raisins! Ric bought this protein flour, so I used it to make my first successful apple pie! I've tried to make one in the past but failed miserably. The pie turned out great and I was worried about the crust, since it wasn't forming into a dough properly. I had to press down the dough in parts, into the tin. It's a little too sweet for my taste, but Ric loves it, so that's what matters :)
