I honestly don't remember the last time I sat down and drew something. It must have been over 3 years. I also have not painted in a long time. I was definitely in the mood, so I went out to buy some art supplies!
I went to Xenos to pick up acrylic paint (2.49 euros for a set of 12!), watercolour, and some brushes to start off with. The quality of the brushes at Xenos is actually quite good and most of the ones on sale were very soft! Then I went to Flying Tiger to pick up a 65 x 90cm canvas, and a palette for my paint. I felt like doing a large piece and I'm glad I did!
My first painting is inspired by Alphonse Mucha. I'm sure many of you have seen his work. I used the following images below for my final drawing, as inspiration. I tried to copy the bottom left drawing though, as the focus of the piece.
It took me about 5 hours to finish the sketch? I took breaks in between, so 4-5 hours. Not bad.
Now I just need to paint it... which I am afraid of, because I just might mess up!
